Why do we need tomorrow, if it isn’t to do better than we did today? Why do we need another chance, if it isn’t to be more than we are now? Why do we need another opportunity if we aren’t going to make the very most of it. If all we do is repeat what we have already done, then it’s not tomorrow that comes when you wake up in the morning, but just a bunch of todays. If we always do more of the same, all we’ll ever get is just that, more of the same.
If we daily make a little progress, a little advancement, if we can just learn and grow a little more each day, over time we will be miles ahead. We’re not going to be miles ahead of others, because that’s not what counts, but we are going to be miles ahead of where we once were. When that happens, all kinds of new doors open up. Our potential grows, new opportunities come, we reach new levels, we discover new worlds, we see things we didn’t even know existed, and as a result we begin to make bigger goals and dream bigger dreams.
All things are possible, if you believe and don’t give up, and if you want it enough. What do you want? Go for it, today, so you can make tomorrow a better day.
Our business in life is not to get ahead of others, but to get ahead of ourselves, to break our own records, to outstrip our yesterday by our today. – Stewart B. Johnson
