If you are not really aiming for much in life, chances are that’s what you’ll get what you want – not much. If you are not striving to reach higher than you are now, you’ll have to settle for less than the best, but maybe you won’t mind. If you are satisfied with what you have already accomplished, and you don’t care to keep growing and learning, you may feel you hit the jackpot with an easy life, but you’ll be missing out on so much more that life has to offer.
Aiming high is not easy. Anyone who has ever tried to climb Mt. Everest will agree. The higher you want to go, the more challenges you will meet, and the more obstacles you will need to overcome. That’s why you have to be a bit crazy to want to climb the tallest mountains, or aim for the highest goals in life. If you don’t really want it, if you are not passionate about your goals, if you are not on fire about your dreams, you will not be willing to go through what it takes to reach the end.
Opportunity often comes disguised in the form of misfortune, or temporary defeat. – Napoleon Hill
If you meet with problems or temporary defeat and then give up, that is as far as you will go. Once you give up, you forfeit the chance to reach the goal. Once you abandon your dream, you won’t be able to stand in victory on the top of the mountain. Once you let temporary setbacks become permanent failures, you lose the opportunity for success. Only those who refuse to give up will see what greatness and success lies beyond the failures and misfortunes of yesterday.
