Change your perspective. It changes everything.
Whenever we are looking at something or thinking something, it is always subjective. It is how we see it, it’s what we think and believe, from our viewpoint and our situation. We see or hear something, and then make some assumptions based or previous knowledge and experiences. There are many things we take for granted. There are things we think we understand really well. There are things we never question. We don’t think we have to. We just know that’s the way it is. Then suddenly something happens, something that causes us to see things from a different perspective, it makes us view things from a new angle, and everything changes.
I read something today that made that point crystal clear. Have you ever heard people complaining about getting old? People do it all the time. Even people who aren’t old, but who feel old do it. I heard one today. He is only 28. Looking at getting older from a different perspective could completely change how they feel about it, and change it from being a curse to a blessing, a problem to a privilege. Here is the quote I read today that brought this to mind:
Do not regret getting older. It is a privilege denied many. – Author unknown
No matter how old you are, be happy. Be grateful. No matter how bad life may seem, complaining doesn’t make it better. If you can’t find anything to be thankful for, if you can’t think of anything in your life that makes you really glad, maybe all you need is to change your perspective. Maybe you need to stop counting your years, and start counting your blessings. Have a fantastic day.
