I heard some unusual marriage counsel once.
Don’t marry someone you can live with. Marry someone you cannot live without. – Unknown
That really is great counsel. I’d like to give the same counsel for just about anything you do in life. Whether you are thinking about your career, your education, your hobbies, your sports, your vacations, your friendships, don’t do anything so-so, humdrum, just-get-by, or average.
If it isn’t worth doing wholeheartedly, don’t do it at all. Don’t live a life that’s OK. Live a life that’s fantastic. Don’t choose a career that you can tolerate. Choose a career that inspires you to become all that you are made to be. Living a great life like that may cost more in terms or time and sacrifice, that’s for sure, but what you get in return is so much more, fulfillment, joy, purpose, bliss, thrills, excitement, and never a dull moment. You deserve, and you can have a fantastic life.
That’s what I am finding out. Whenever I am involved in anything, I try to give it my all, and it has been my experience that the more I give, the more I get, and the more inspiring, challenging and fun life becomes. Try it. You might just like it.
