If you don’t know what you want, you won’t get it. No way. It’s impossible. So many people live their lives dreaming about a brighter future, more money, a better relationship, but the only problem is, they never stop to figure out what that really means to them. It’s just a vague reverie about wanting something more without having a clear picture of what it is. So they continue dreaming, and feel cheated and left out because they’re never able to live their dreams.
If you don’t know where you want to go, you won’t get there. No way. It’s impossible. It’s like getting in a car and starting to drive without having any clue of where you want to end up. Or worse yet, it’s like getting in a car, and just sitting there without going anywhere. Either way it’s impossible to reach a goal you have not defined.
How do I know. Because that’s how I was going about living my life for more years than I care to remember. I was busy, I was doing things, even good things, but it had been years since I had really taken the time to reflect about what my personal goals and dreams were.
If that’s what you are doing, if that’s the way you are living life too, it’s never too late to change. If you don’t, you will end up a victim of circumstances instead of being the master of your fate. You’ll end up living someone else’s dream instead of your own. You’ll end up blaming life for not giving you what you didn’t know you wanted.
But once you take the time to stop and think about what you really love doing, once you look at that dream and live yourself into it until it feels like reality, once you listen to your heart without any judgment or fear or worry, that’s when it will happen. You’ll find out what you want, and where you want to go, and there will be nothing stopping you.
The key to success is holding in your conscious mind what you want to achieve and then striving in everything you do to make the image reality. – Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
